I only use LJ nowadays to post on other people's journals...I mostly blog on DA. But I had to post today because I updated my journal layout and most importantly, got a set of cute hyena mood icons. ;) So...ta-da.

(Yeah I know, I never post in this thing anymore...thing is if I have something to say I just post it on my Foster's forum.)

So, Jim and I will be at Comic-Con again this year. I will be dressing up as three different characters this year: Mac from Foster's (just with a wig instead of that big head I had last time), Sybil Pandemik from the new Sam & Max computer games, and Pearl Forrester from MST3K - although for that last one it'll probably just be the jacket over regular clothes. Jim will wear his Dr. Forrester lab coat that night too, at the MST3K reunion panel. The Sybil costume goes with my lifesize Max plush that I had at Wondercon, and the Mac costume is because Cartoon Network wants to do a fan interview with me and [info]mrbuu, who will have his Bloo costume. Still don't know if that's going to be on TV or online or anything, or if it will have film or still photos. I'll try to remember to post here when I know.

Anyways, see you there if you're coming too! I can be found at the Telltale Games booth, the Cartoon Network booth, the My Firefly, Inc booth when I feel like bugging Lauren, and the Full Moon booth.

San Fancisco WonderCon 2008

The San Francisco WonderCon is a sister convention to the San Diego ComicCon. http://www.comic-con.org/wc/ This year its from February 22-24, and my brother and and I are going for the first time despite the fact we have lived in the bay area for most of our lives. ;) (Of course, I didn't start hitting ComicCon until after I left Los Angeles.)

So...shout out if you'll be there. Since we don't have a hotel and the drive is almost 2 hours each way we're more likely than not only going for a single day, either Saturday or Sunday. We didn't see any panels we're interested in, we're just going for the exhibit hall, so I don't think it especially matters which day we go on.

Unfortunately it appears that Steve Purcell won't be at this WC. :P Oh well.

What D&D Character Are You?
Better Than Cats
[info]neithersparky
I tried to answer the questions as honestly as possible and I got:

I Am A: Neutral Good Human Druid (3rd Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-10

Dexterity-9

Constitution-11

Intelligence-12

Wisdom-10

Charisma-12

Alignment:
Neutral Good A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment because because it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Druids gain power not by ruling nature but by being at one with it. They hate the unnatural, including aberrations or undead, and destroy them where possible. Druids receive divine spells from nature, not the gods, and can gain an array of powers as they gain experience, including the ability to take the shapes of animals. The weapons and armor of a druid are restricted by their traditional oaths, not simply training. A druid's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that they can cast.

One, Neutral Good rules, two, humans are my favorite D&D race, and three, I actually played a Druid in D&D (the only time I really played D&D proper) for many years, so that amuses me. So, yay.

Yeah, I started a new fansite...nothing special, but I saw that there were NO fansites for "Help! I'm a Fish" so I had to make one.

I caught the first showing of this at a local theatre today, and it was AWESOME. I never saw the stage production nor did I ever hear the soundtrack, but I've loved the original film forever. I don't feel like writing anything long, so this will be short...Wow the only thing I have a complaint about is, in this version there's no explanation whatsoever as to why Tracy shows up at the competition with straightened hair (that I caught). Oh well. I bought the soundtrack and am listening to it now. It's fantastic. That Nikki Blonski, she could do the singing voice of a Disney princess. ;)

Oh and I'm in love with Christopher Walken now. The End.

...I shall post random things now.

Well, as all the people who I keep in close contact know, I'm gearing up for yet another fun-filled San Diego Comic-Con, at the end of July. I will be meeting up with all but one of the staff of my Foster's Home forum as well as seeing some folks from he-man.org. I'm looking forward to Jerry Beck's latest installment of the Worst Animation Ever as well as his panel focusing on the at-long-last Popeye DVD set hitting shelves on July 31. I have finally finished my cosplay for the Con and am working on some gifts for a few members of the Foster's Home crew.

Pemmican brand beef jerky is a million times better than Oberto brand.

I am currently working on a DVD set of the Fox Casper cartoon, of which I have managed to collect most, though not quite all, of the episodes. Oh well, better than nothing. I also need to finish up my Casper and the Angels 19-episode set. Then I'm going to rehaul my Beetlejuice set at a higher quality.

I make really good potato salad.

I'm thinking of getting a luggage rack installed on my car.

Tarantulas drink a lot more water than you might think.

I can't think of anything else. No wonder I never use this thing. :P

The Vallejo newspaper (online) wants 80 bucks to keep my friend's obituary/guestbook/thingie online forever.

Why don't *I* just make a page for her? It can have a guestbook (which I can moderate to keep spam out, like the one on my Beetlejuice page) and I can set up a photo gallery if people email me pictures. It can have anything else people email to me as well. It can have the original obituary. It can have a March of Dimes section, with info on where to make donations. It can have whatever.

Is that too presumptuous of me? :P It's just that I already HAVE lots of space online, that belongs to me, and surely will for a very long time. Why pay 80 bucks and not have control over anything but adding to the guestbook and photo gallery? People would be able to find it with Google or whatever. And they could at least have an individual to email (or individuals, if anyone else wanted their email addresses posted) so they can talk to someone personally about her if they need to. The Vallejo paper didn't know her.

And no, I didn't make a memorial page for my mother; that doesn't mean I think my friend is more important than than my mom. It's just that my mom didn't know many people who use the Internet, if you know what I mean.

The whole thing really wouldn't take much effort to make or maintain. Anyone know if her mom or dad use the Internet (if anyone reading this knew her)? I actually have no idea.

(Yeah, I know I never mention my friend by name on here. I'm paranoid of someone figuring out her LJ username and spamming her journal because they think its cool to spam a deceased person's journal.)
